What's your status?

Everywhere you go, a label follows you.   Whether you are a "stay-at-home mom" or "married with no kids" or "a divorcee", people want to know your STATUS. Heck, an entire website was dedicated to the status of your life.  And ever since Facebook made it's grand debut into the world in 2004, several other websites have followed suit, all delivering the message of who you are and what you're doing at every given moment.  But the one question that seems to dominate over all others when it comes to your "status", is whether you are single or not? I cannot count how many times I have been asked over the past year whether I am dating or seeing someone or in a new relationship.  Don't get me wrong.....this doesn't bother me in the least.  In fact, I love that people are curious about my life.  But it does make me wonder why people are asking?  Do they think that you can only be happy if you're in a relationship? I am surrou

Does your universe have an expiry date?

It's 11am on a Saturday morning. I just finished eating two BLT's, and I was sprawled out on my couch in my pj's, watching Keeping up with the Kardashian's and sipping my coffee. A text comes in from Amy:   "Whatcha doin?" "Watching Kardashians.  U?". "Just woke up.  Watching YouTube videos in bed". "Call me." "K"  Amy and my sister are eternal optimists.  They will see the positive in the most negative situations.  Amy's sister and I very often laugh at their motivational speeches and transformational YouTube videos that they love watching.   But I have to admit, their thoughts on letting go of control and letting the universe handle things that are completely out of your spectrum, has sort of transformed me!   These sisters of ours, have taught me to see that opportunities are always being thrown at your doorstep.  And that there is no point in worrying, because worrying is a waste of a time and accompl

Keep your "cool"

This weekend I went to a FABULOUS party! It was hosted by a really good friend in her huge house and it was just amazing. The whole house was decorated in a snow theme.......glitzy snowflakes hanging from the walls, white and silver balloons at every turn, and romantic music playing in the background. The hostess took our coats as my best friends showed off their stunning gowns. I strolled over to the buffet table to find it covered in delicacies....white and blue sparkly cupcakes and enough hors d'oeuvres to feed an army! Everywhere I looked were girls in fabulous dresses, dancing, drinking and laughing. When I didn't think the party could get any better, the doorbell rang.....and in walked 2 uber-famous celebrities.  The room went silent.........I quickly grabbed my camera and ran to the door with the rest of the guests.  I couldn't believe it!  We were all staring in awe.  The celebrities took off their coats.....threw back their hair....and glided into the h

My best ink

I am happy to announce that I have a new tattoo. Now, normally I wouldn't brag about getting a tattoo.  I'll brag about other things, but bragging about getting a tattoo is not one of them.  I don't know why?  I guess I like that look of surprise on people's faces when they spot ink on my skin.  For some reason people don't expect it on me.  It could be that my skin is whiter than white and I tend to blend in with most walls around me.......hence the red lipstick. So people don't assume such a fair and delicate flower like me would have "scribbles" on her body. Just the other day I was chatting with a guy who suddenly grabbed my arm and said  "You have a tattoo??".  It was flattering to see how much he liked it.  Of course he asked if I had more, which I do.....but I wasn't prepared to show him just then. I'm a LADY for heaven's sake ;) So back to the tattoo.  This was not a brand new tattoo but rather a cover-up.  I finally
